Avrorа Children’s Choir

The choir was founded in 2009 at the Kraynev Children’s School of Arts. Since its establishment the director is Anastasia Belyaeva. The repertory is wide and varied, including various pieces of classical music of different epochs, countries, styles and genres. “Avrora” is one of the most striking contemporary Russian choirs. Despite being a fairly young, it has already gained popularity and love in musical-choral society in Moscow. The choir performs at a variety of venues in the city, cooperates with well-known musicians, and participates in many creative projects and festivals. The choir won awards at several national and international competitions, and has an active concert schedule. Among its most recent achievements are the Golden Diploma awarded at Rimini International Choral Competition (2014), Golden Diploma received at the Second Children-youth Choral World Championship (2015), Golden Diplomas in several categories at the Russian Competition “Choral Kazan”(2016) and the special prize “The best conductor of the competition” for Anastasia Belyaeva. In 2017 “Avrora” became the winner of Certamen Juvenil de Habaneras in Torrevieja, Spain.

Anastasia Belyaeva graduated in choral conducting in 2009 and later in 2012 she completed her postgraduate studies at “Tchaikovsky” Conservatory in Moscow. She also defended a Ph.D. degree. In 2009 Anastasia became the director of “Avrora” Children’s Choir. She leads regular seminars and master classes for choirmasters in Russia, is a member of jury at different Russian festivals and competitions for children’s choirs. Since 2014 she has been a leader of Moscow Methodical Choral Centre for Children’s Choirs. Anastasia defended her dissertation “Semion Kazachkov and Kazan School of Choir Conducting”. She has published several articles in “Muzykovedenie” (Musicology) Journal and is preparing for publication a biography of Semion Kazachkov, a prominent Russian choral conductor.
