The conductor Zaharina Milkova-Nikitasova graduated from „Dobri Hristov“ Music School in Varna and „Pancho Vladigerov“ National Music Academy in Sofia. She worked as a music expert at the Council for Culture – Varna, then she taught singing and music at school and choral study at the Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. Over the next years she was a conductor and artistic director of the Women’s Chamber Choir, Girls’ Choir, Mixed Choir „Orthodoxy“ and Children’s Choir „Dobri Hristov“. Since 1981 so far she has been the director and conductor of the Varna Girls and Women’s Choir at the Choral School „Prof. Marin Chonev „- Varna Municipality. With this choir she has won numerous national awards and prizes at international competitions in Bulgaria, Belgium, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland and Turkey. Chairman of the Conductors’ Collegium – Varna at the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers, she is also a member of the Organizing Committee of the International May Choir Competition „Prof. G. Dimitrov „- Varna. Mrs. Nikitasova has been invited as a jury member of international choral festivals and competitions.
