Academic choir Maribor – Maribor, Slovenia
The choir has been working within the Cultural Art Association Student since 1964. It is one of the main promoters of student and youth culture in Maribor and is recognised as a cultural ambassador of Slovenia at many international meetings, competitions and festivals. Most of the singers are students and together with conductor Tadeja Vulc they have been promoting quality choral music for almost six year in a row. Tadeja Vulc is a well-known composer and recipient of many awards and recognitions, and her choir, which has 50 members, successfully works on domestic and foreign stage. To celebrate the festive atmosphere, they organize Christmas and New Year concerts, and an annual concert every season. The choir is also happy to participate in various occasions and projects in their hometown and surroundings. Their singers love to take advantage of every opportunity to sing and spread their singing among as many people as possible.

Tadeja Vulc (b.1978) perfected her knowledge by studying at the Academy for Music in Ljubljana and refined her skills at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
She won various prizes: 4th prize at the competition Rostrum in the Netherlands, the France Prešeren Student Prize for the composition Tri iveri /Three Slivers/), the 2nd prize in the anonymous competition of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the 1st prize in the international competition of the Academic Choir “Tone Tomšič” for the arrangement of a folk piece, the statuette of Gallus for special achievements with the Academic Choir Maribor, the 3rd place in the Grand Prix Seghizzi competition, the 1st prize in the International Choral Competition in Debrecen (Hungary, 2016) and many special prizes for performances of songs. In 2016 she also received the Special Prize for Excellent Conducting Performance in Debrecen, Hungary. Her work is a constant intertwinement of conducting and composing.
