The choir was founded in Rome in 1979 to support and spread polyphonic music. Directed by Maestro Mauro Marchetti, It is particularly involved as a promoter and performer of countless musical events. Among them – the opening concert of the Jubilee in 2000, various collaborations with Ennio Morricone for concerts, tours and soundtrack recordings, a Christmas concert in Rome (2008) with soprano Monserrat Caball?, the Nuit des Choeursfestival in Belgium (2013). The choir performed successfully in many national and international competitions: Arezzo (2004, 2009), Varna (2010), Tolosa (2011), Matera (2015). It has organized various workshops and masterclasses with internationally renowned conductors such as Paul Crabb, David Skinner and composers such as Javier Busto, Bob Chilcott and Eric Whitacre. The choir has recorded several CDs and soundtracks, including Novec?nto (2006), Dalvivo(2009), dediCantum (2015).

Mauro Marchetti was born in Rome. He started his musical career in the Children’s Choir of ARCUM, singing as soloist at the Piccola Scala in Milan, the Theatre of Treviso, the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, the Opera House in Rome, under the direction of Bernstein, Sawallisch, Sinopoli and Pretre. Since 1992 he has been resident conductor of Coro Citt? di Roma, and has participated in many festivals and competitions in Italy and in Europe. Member of the artistic committee of Feniarco (Italy’s National Choral Association), he is often invited as jury member of national and international competitions of choral singing and choral composition. He has won choral competitions at regional, national and international level (Varna, Gorizia, Arezzo, Maribor, Rome, Vallecorsa, Rieti). He won the “Mariele Ventre” Best Director Prize at the 57th International Competition Guido d’Arezzo (2009) and the Award for Best Director at the 32nd International Competition in Varna (2010).
