Girl’s Choir Bodeča Neža – Savogna d’Isonzo, Italy
The Girl’s Choir Bodeča Neža operates in Italy in the province of Gorizia and takes active part in the cultural life of the Slovenian minority in Italy. The choir regularly performs in Italy and Slovenia and is often invited to many international festivals in Europe. The choir won many prizes at national and international choir competitions – first prize: Neerpelt 2010, Vittorio Veneto National Competition 2011, Polifonico Arezzo National Competition 2013, Quartiano National Competiton 2016; second prize: Maribor National Competition 2012, Cantonigros International Competition 2012, Fleischmann International Trophy Competition (Cork), third prize: Baden International Competition 2014, Maasmechelen International competition 2015. It released four CDs (Bodečenežno 2011, Stabat Mater 2011, Čas-Tempo-Time 2014, Gaudete et cantate 2016) and has been awarded many prizes for its artistic activity, in Slovenia and Italy.

Mateja Černic holds a Master Degree in Education, Slovene and Comparative Literatures and Music Education fron the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. At present she is taking A Master Deegre in choral conducting at the Bonporti Conservatory in Trento. She took over the baton of the Girl’s Choir Bodeča Neža in 2007 and since 2014 she has been conducting the mixed choir Goriški komorni zbor (Slovenia) as well. As a member of the Italian National Youth Choir she conducted the choir at the Rolling Stones’ concert in Rome (2014). Mateja Černic is often invited to choral competitions as member of the jury, as well as to different trainings programmes for conductors and vocal coaches as guest lecturer. For her artistic successes she has been awarded three prizes: Zlati znak, Zlato zrno and Mirko Špacapan’s Award (2011, 2013 and 2017).
